Many would agree that the Japanese are masters of thinking outside the box. Here are the 5 most interesting solutions that the creative engineers at Soft99 have built into their car care products.
Our colleagues from the Japanese headquarters work in offices in places such as Osaka and Tokyo, but the heart of the company beats in Sanda and Kobe, in Hyōgo Prefecture in central-southern Japan. This is where our factory and R&D centre are located. It’s exactly there that the ideas Soft99 is known for are born—below are five of our favourite solutions.
Applicators included with car waxes
Let’s start with something almost obvious. What good is a tin of wax if you have nothing to apply it with? At Soft99, including an applicator with wax is standard. Inside the tin, under the plastic lid, you’ll usually find a characteristic yellow foam applicator. But that’s not all!

Some Soft99 waxes are designed to skip the curing time entirely. In such cases, according to the instructions, you simply rub the wax directly into the paint. For this purpose, instead of a foam applicator, we include a high-quality microfiber towel in the tin. This is the case with Mirror Shine and Scratch Clear waxes.
As a fun fact, Fusso Coat F7 also features a unique applicator (the box includes two medium-firm sponges), as does Authentic Premium, the only natural wax in our lineup. Its soft sponge is distinguished by a delicate fabric layer on one side, making application even gentler on the paint.
Lids that help you use every last drop of spray
Have you ever noticed the lid of Silicone Off? The small recess in the center with protruding tabs is no accident. After using an aerosol product, it often happens that a small amount of product remains inside the can, seemingly impossible to extract. “What a waste!” thought the practical Japanese.

When Silicone Off stops spraying, place a microfiber towel on a flat surface and put the lid on top of it. Then take the can, remove the trigger, place it upside down into the recess in the lid, and press down. This releases the valve and allows you to extract the remaining product onto the microfiber. This not only lets you use 100% of the product, but also makes recycling easier. True Japanese practicality.
Removable felt applicators in Glaco products
Did you know that some Glaco applicators can be removed? This is especially important for users of Glaco Glass Compound Roll On, a product for deep glass cleaning. How does it work?

After using the product, to avoid hardened residue on the felt head, remove it and rinse it in warm water. You can use a neutral pH detergent if needed. After washing, let the applicator dry at room temperature. Once you put it back on the product, it will be like new. Practical.
Although glass coatings don’t soil applicators to the same extent, you can also remove the felt heads from some of these products as well. This applies to Glaco DX, Glaco Q, and Glaco Blave.
A product that stores an entire accessory set
Practical Japanese users, often dealing with very small garages, tend to prefer compact solutions. And that’s exactly the idea behind the Digloss series. It may sound lofty, but Digloss is more than just a line of tire and wheel products. These products simply work perfectly together.

The Gundam-like “mother-ship” of this set is Digloss Wheel & Tire Cleaner. Our multifunctional tire and wheel spray features a uniquely shaped head. The elongated rear section not only rests comfortably on the wrist, making work easier, but is also full of small grooves and tabs on which you can mount:
- Digloss Kamitore Sponge, a unique microfibre brush-sponge for wheels
- Digloss Tire Brush, two efficient cleaning sponges for tire sidewalls
- Large Soft99 detailing brush for exterior elements
- Small Soft99 detailing brush for exterior elements
This assembled “set” not only looks impressive, but also saves space.
The trigger switch in Rain Drop
Have you ever noticed the small black clip on the head of Rain Drop? This is a special solution, similar to the “safety cap” described above. Thanks to it, you can completely empty the can of gas.

This is the perfect solution when you want to make sure the can is completely empty before disposal. It’s important from a safety perspective: the flammable gas inside the Rain Drop can is under pressure. We recommend caution when emptying the can and doing so only outdoors or in well-ventilated areas.
We hope you enjoyed our selection of unique product solutions! We like to highlight the distinct Japanese character of our products, and these unusual, rarely seen-in-Europe solutions are one of the key differentiators of Soft99 on the market. Make good use of your newly gained knowledge, and we wish you happy car care with Soft99!
